Vol de Nuit, Bill Moseley & Joanna Logue 95 x 85 cm 2014 Finalist for the Blake Prize 2016 The tintype process was invented by Archer in 1851, using sensitised collodion on either a black steel sheet for an instant ‘positive’ or else on glass as a negative for prints. My tintypes are produced either ‘in - camera’ or else from digital positives printed under the enlarger. Working from digital positives allows greater control and lets us produce images that could not be obtained otherwise. I far prefer working with the camera, for it’s nuances..
